of St Olave’s Church, Hart Street, London, the
church where he was married.

marriage on 19 August 1756:

Catherine Seale of the parish of St Olave Hart Street, spinster,
a minor with consent of parents;
witnesses: Henry Seale, Mary Seale, Francis Harrache,
Mary Purser,
Thomas Seale, S[?] Seale, [?] Horwood.
(The bride was baptised on 24 April 1737 at St Olave’s Church, Hart Street, London:
"Catherine the daughter of Mr Henery and Mary Seale").
The 1755 Kent’s London Directory listed
Henry Seale and Josiah Seale as merchants of
Mark Lane (London Directories, Ancestry online).
The will of ‘Mary Seale of Mark Lane, London, widow’,
dated 12 March 1765 ‘in the fifth year of the Reign of our Sovereign
Lord George the Third’, mentioned her daughter Catherine Purser
(PCC Will, National Archives, probate date 21 January 1767).
This confirms the Seale family residence as Mark Lane.
Mary Seale was buried on 18 January 1767 in the
‘Old Vault, Middle Isle’ of St Olave’s
Church, Hart Street, London.
