The Ilsley Family of Sherborne St John in Census Returns

Kiln Farm, Sherborne St John, Hampshire,
the home of the Ilsley family.

Charles Ilsley was listed as a ‘farmer, timber dealer, & brick & tile maker’ in a Sherborne St John directory for 1855. His son William Ilsley took over as the farmer and brick maker at Kiln Farm.

Photographs kindly provided by Shirley Toms, a grand-daughter of Arthur Ilsley, who was the son of William and Sarah Ilsley.
